I delivered Nicholas on Thursday, Sept. 27, 1979 naturally in less than an hour of labor, but he was two weeks past his due date. He was a beautiful healthy 8 lb. 3 ½ oz., 20” long baby, born on Thursday, September 27, 1979 at 9:41 a.m in St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, New York. Doctors on call were Dr. Averill (Obstetrician) and Dr. Young (Pediatrician). (pictured "just born" Nicholas with Mom)
Thursday's Child Poem
Mondays child is fair of face, Tuesdays child is full of grace, Wednesdays child is full of woe, Thursdays child has far to go, Fridays child is loving and giving, Saturdays child works hard for his living, And the child that is born on the Sabbath day Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

The day Nick died and even now, I still can’t figure out how to go on. I feel paralyzed by the loss, and at times think I’m in denial that he is actually gone. Yet I can clearly remember this day when I got that horrible call from my son Mike at around 2:45 p.m. telling my husband and me to please hurry home and meet him at the Westchester Medical hospital because the cops were taking him there to see his brother who was critical. After several attempts by the surgeon for fifteen minutes to try to start his heart up again, he was pronounced dead from heart failure at exactly 3:30 p.m. on August 18, 2005.
He was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly the morning of August 18, 2005 at the age of 25. Although we don’t know the events that took place that tragic morning, we know in our hearts one day we will uncover the truth. Nick will always be a part of all of us and we will remember him forever.
At the present time, we still don't know the real cause of Nick's death. His autopsy reports came back stating that he died of natural causes and heart failure, and not like the rumors said of an overdose. This doesn't make sense since he was a healthy 25 year old with a normal heart, which the autopsy report also states, at the time of his death. We have been trying to let ourselves believe that what happened to Nick in the end was his destiny to be with God because nothing else makes sense.
